Abnormal Paps/Future Pregnancy

Hi,

I am wondering if abnormal paps (which so far are nothing other than abnormal cells, a colposcopy is scheduled for next week) can cause future issues with getting pregnant and carrying full term. I have the HPV virus (never tested, but I did have condyloma removed externally ten years ago). I have only had one other abnormal pap approximately 5 years ago, but a retest came back normal. I had recurrent bacterial infections which began about a year and a half ago, though I haven't had one in about six months. I do not take birth control (use condoms) because it seems to mess up my blood sugar (hypoglycemic), nor do I smoke, and I have had one abortion 7 years ago. My most recent abnormal pap was the last one, and the nurse said there are abnormally shaped (atypical) cells, on a scale of 1 (normal) to ten (cancer), I was a 2. I do not know what the colposcopy will find. My concern really is a) will all this mean I will eventually end up with some sort of cervical cancer, and b) will this sort of thing cause problems with getting pregnant, carrying the baby, and birth defects (does HPV harm the infant, will the infant carry it too?).

Thanks for any input/advice!
