Anal fissures---hormone related?

I started to have vaginal burning and dryness last year. Eventually it became bladder irritation. Soon I began to have anal fissures.

I had anal fissure surgery which has a 98% rate of no fissure return yet I continue to get them. They are not as bad as before the surgery but I still get them despite changes in bowel habits. The surgeon is stumped and so is a second colorectal surgeon I was sent to for this reason.

My question is---can the hormone decline that causes my vaginal dryness/burning and all over skin dryness cause the anal skin to be easily torn as well? In other words--can this be hormone related?

If my regular skin has lost elasticity then I would think the anal skin can too. Only 1 doctor out of at least 9 that I have ever talked about this with said that this can happen. Maybe women don't talk about it with their doctors and that is why they don't know about it.

Thanks, Lynn
