[Birth Control] BCP, fluid retention and heart palpitationsFrom: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 10 Dec 2001 09:35:08 -0600 (CST)
Every time I try taking a birth control pill (I have tried 4 diff kinds) I seem to get heart palpitations. Well, maybe I'm using the wrong term. My heart feels like it's pounding hard (not fast though) and seems to hesitate sometimes. This makes my feel like I need to catch my breath or cough, but it is very quick, lasting only a second or two. Also, I seem to be retaining a lot of water when this happens, as my pants feel very tight, my fingers feel swollen and stiff, and I drink a lot (because I feel very thirsty) but I don't urinate much. Any ideas about why this happens to me?
