uterine biopsy needed?From: Alice (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 7 Dec 2001 22:18:35 -0600 (CST)
I am 39 years old. I started out with occasional post coital bleeding, that seemed to come and go. Then about six months ago my period started to come early some months. This monthh I began to spot , light pink on the 13th day of my cycle.I have had lots of tests done. Pap smears, colposcopy with biopsy, endocervical cutterage, vaginal ultrasounds, and a hysterosonogram. Everything came back normal. My doc thinks I should go on the pill.I aasked her if I should have a endometrial biopsy, and she said she did not think so.She seemed to think the Hysterosonogram would have showed any uterine abnormalities. This has been going on for two years, and I have been seeing a Doc the whole time. My big fear is that I have some problem, like cancer, that they are missing.Should I insist on a uterine biopsy,or would cancer have shown up on the Hysterosonogram? I have heard the only true way to tule out uterine cancer is with a D.+ C. What should I do? Am I being a worry wart for no reason? Thanks Alice P.S. Could this all be hormonal?
