Diflucan & Monistat Together...From: Maggie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 5 Dec 2001 23:57:10 -0600 (CST)
I've been battling a very stubborn yeast infection no matter what the doctors would give me the cure wouldn't last for long. I even had one doctor give me 5 Diflucan pills to take each day in a row in hopes that it could cure me. It did however it didn't last for long. So finally I got so desperate I decided to use both the Diflucan and the Monistat together. I first took the Diflucan pill then I inserted a Monistat suppository inside me for 7 night in a row and let me tell you it worked I felt alot better. A comfort and relief I haven't felt in a long time. It worked and I still haven't gotten the dreaded yeast infection back, however I'm wondering. Could this combination of caused me to get a Bacterial Vaginosis infection of which I currently have and am getting treated for with antibiotics? One doctor told me if all the Candida is killed from the vagina it could cause BV. Is this true? I'm also once again using monistat as a pre-caution while on the antibiotics cause I don't want to get another reoccuring yeast infection. Thank you so much for your response...
