DepoProvera can cause weight gain. I for one did lose, but I have another medical problem that can cause weight loss, so I am not one to go by.

I think it was said that approximately 40% (check the archives on this, please) will bleed while on DP. I did not bleed at all, except for a couple of days of very light spotting. I was on it for one year. Since coming off, it is a different story. When I finally got my period back, it was, and is, coming every other week!!

It is probably hard to say how your body will react. All you can do is try it if you want to and see how things go.
