Although I hate to contradict a doctor, I've actually read that using two condoms can increase the chance of failure. The friction of the two layers of latex rubbing against each other can cause one or both of them to break more easily. My own preferred method (before I got on the pill) was condoms plus contraceptive films, available at any drugstore.
