I had a rectocele repair a year ago. I am VERY glad I did it; I have had no problems since. BUT it was a VERY painful recovery. Just take your pain medication around the clock--don't miss a dose as then it takes longer to catch up. I took Percocet and Motrin. It didn't hurt like after a laceration repair after a vaginal delivery--that part only hurt a little. What hurt was the muscles in my rear end. It felt like I had a charley horse in my butt cheeks (sorry). I also sat in the bath tub a lot. That really helped. Just remember, it does get better! (Incidently, I had planned to do so much while I was off work. I got nothing done at all. So, don't make too many plans until you start feeling better!)
