Carmel:

I did have the cystocele repaired and the pain was pretty bad, but the doctor kept me comfortable with morphine for 2 days, then switched me to lortab 10. I was in the hospital for 3 days. I had a vaginal vault suspension/peyrera bladder suspension. Mine was done vaginally with 2 small incisions in the suprpubic area. After I got home the suprapubic catheter stayed in for about a week. It wasn't a pleasant surgery, but after all is said and done, I returned to work in 5 weeks. Now, the only problem is I formed alot of scar tissue and my repair has failed...but this won't necessarily happen to you! Just remember to rest, I mean totally rest and take it easy, don't do anything until your doctor authorizes you to do so! It will be better in the long run! Sorry, I couldn't be more encouraging, but I wanted you to know what to expect. Good luck and keep us posted!
