Kelly Shanahan, MD, FACOG: "Re: spotting before ovulation" Hi,I am on day 14 of a 31 day cycle so about 3 days away from ovulation and I had some spotting today that was red in color slightly mucusy with two very small blood clots and I have had for about the past two days pain in my left ovary,I have never had spotting with ovulation before is this normal?I am a healthy 25 year old ,and also for the past week I have had a cold and have been taking a decongestant for it I have read that the decongestant can cause spotting is this true?
