Elaine, It is better if you wait for your period before beginning. Given that there is not a chance of pregnancy, you could certainly start at any point, however, the possibility of break through bleeding is increased. Regardless, if you start now, I would still recommend using another form of birth control (i.e. condoms) during the first month of the pill... Lynn
