Re: Im 24yrs old had Hyst 5 months ago and still in pain. - YES your back can cause itFrom: SarahB (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 27 Nov 2001 22:24:06 -0600 (CST)
Hi, I know of two women (over the internet) who had terrible pelvic pain that turned out to be from degenerative disk disease. One was misdiagnosed with possible endo and took Lupron (it did nothing for her pain). I am sorry I do not recall the details but I know she had a procedure done (I think it was called a discogram) that "reproduced" her pain exactly and that is how the doctor determined that the pelvic pain was from her back problem. Last I heard from her she was going to a special back clinic for therapy - I know she had disabling pain in her pelvis. Back when I conversed with her I was able to find some articles on the subject. I have had chronic pelvic pain since 1990 - mine is from pelvic congestion. I am so sorry that you underwent a hyst and it did not help at all - that has always been my fear - I did see a pelvic pain specialist who did a pain mapping which enabled him to pinpoint the exact areas in my pelvis that were causing my pain - In my case the uterine veins and veins to my right ovary were terribly painful and that lead to the pelvic congestion diagnosis. I wish you the best! You need to find a doctor who specilizes in that field of study. SarahB
