Perineal pain after Thermal Balloon AblationFrom: Ann (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 25 Nov 2001 10:26:31 -0600 (CST)
I was wondering if this happened to anyone else that had a thermal balloon ablation, or any type of ablation. About 12hrs after surgery, I got very bad sharp shooting pains in the perineal area. They went away with Motrin and were gone in about 4 days. I am 12days post op and the pains are back again. Any reason this would happen? Could this be a result of the surgery itself and that I am still healing? Except for right after surgery, I haven't had any problems with my bladder. Could this surgery have affected my colon also? That is where the main pain seems to be, but also shooting into my vaginal wall. At this point, I am still having alittle problem sitting comfortably, when I sit, I still get the sharp pains in that area. Yesterday I couldn't sit, stand or lay down, nothing seemed to help, until I took 800mgs of motrin. I do plan on calling the dr tomorrow if the pain doesn't go away, just wanted to see if anyone else had this problem.
