pregnancy and gall bladder removalFrom: poemart99 (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 19 Nov 2001 14:13:25 -0600 (CST)
I am pregnant with my 2nd child. I had some minor difficulty with the 1st pregnancy. Such as: migraines, nausea and vomitting until the last month and occassionally an unexplained excruciating pain in my sides and chest area. The later was chalked up to gas or heartburn but it continued for 2 more years. Finally it was discovered that my gall bladder was part of the problem and it was removed in October 2000. The other cause was a hiatel hernia (sorry if misspelled). I would just like to know if not having a gall bladder can cause problems or complications with/for the baby. I have not had a chance to see my Doctor yet as I am temporarily without insurance and he is converting to a private practice. But I would really like to know if not having my gall bladder affects my pregnancy in anyway. I am really concerned about it. Also, what can I expect with the hiatel hernia. Will this cause any problems for me or the baby during this pregnancy. Thanks for any help and info in advance.
