Uterine prolapse is not a life threatening problem but it can cause pain
and infections in the genital area. The vagina or cervix can be
irritated and if prolapse is severe enough, it can cause inability to
urinate (urinary retention). In many women, a pessary (rubberized ring
or other shapes) can be placed into the vagina to hold up the prolapsed
organs. This may avoid surgery and the associated risks.
Hope this helps and write back anytime for more information.
