Months of staining on the pill at age 40 is probably nothing but I'd
normally investigate it if a change in pills didn't help. It can be
thyroid problems, fibroids, polyps, bleeding problems and the list
continues. Not sure what you can do about it in your present situation
but at least you have some more info to go on.
