I do believe there hasn't been enough of studies as to which albation is the best. My dr does the thermal balloon (water), which is what I had done, now I am only three days post-op, but I am feeling well. If you do have this procedure, I would watch for bladder pain post-op, some women get this some do not. I had general anesthesia for the procedure, and ended up with severe right side pain that went away when I stood, the nurse in post-op believed it was my bladder, as did I, the dr's assistant wasn't too helpful. I got all the pain med's available including morphine. The only thing that helped was the Motrin I took when I got home. When I completely emptied my bladder later in the afternoon the pain went away immediately. I did call the nurse (since she was a friend of mine) the next day to let her know she was right. I had asked if they had given me a anti-inflamatory in my IV, the nurse said they had. So, I am not sure why I got such incredible pain in my bladder, and haven't had a chance to ask the dr, but will when I go for check up.
