Adhesions, poor quality oocytes and high FSHFrom: Jo (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 14 Nov 2001 23:34:45 -0600 (CST)
I am 34 years old. I have double hydrosalpinx and have had my tubes clipped to improve the chances of successful IVF. I had my day 3 FSH tested a couple of months ago and it was 11. I have just done my first attempt at IVF which failed. I produced only 3 mature eggs and from that only one modest quality (and two poor quality) embryos. I am concerned that my poor response and the poor quality of my eggs was due to diminished blood supply to my ovaries caused by adhesions. If this is the case, is there anything I can do. Will improving my general circulation help? I am exercising and taking low dose aspirin, co enzyme Q10 and vitamin supplements - any other suggestions? What about microsurgery? Does a day 3 FSH level suggest that my chances of success are poor? I have asked my gyno but he just says "lets wait and see". I have searched over 250 archives but nothing seems to be on point.
