[Birth Control] DEPO-PROVERA INJECTIONS...THE BEST CHOICE?

I am 19 and have started my first serious relationship. I was on the Combined pill once before and had pains in my legs. There is a history of thrombosis in my family so I have been advised to change to the injection Depo-Provera. I feel that maybe I am a little young to be taking such a form of contraception. I am not too keen on the idea of the mini-pill, so I don't really know what to do. My nurse has not been very helpful! Any suggestions? Anybody have a similiar situation? I have heard this injection can lead to severe mood swings, and as I suffer badly from PMS already I am hesitent to take this step.
