complete chorioamniotic separation post amniocentesisFrom: rosie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 13 Nov 2001 20:11:17 -0600 (CST)
I am 34 years gravida 2 para 1 and had an amniocentesis at 16+ weeks gestation. Karyotype is 46XX. Unfortunately on routine scan at 21 weeks 2 days ago, my obstetrician noted complete chorioamniotic separation and there is oligohydraminos within the amniotic cavity with an AFI of 9 and 7.2 on a repeat scan the following day. I am asymptomatic and there is no leaking liquor. The fetus does not appear compromised at present but I am sure she will be if I do not intervene. My obstetrician is unsure of how to proceed. Please, is there anyone out there who has had experience of this? I would be very grateful for your opinion.
