Jessica, As you will find volumes in the archives relating to this topic, the package insert says you are protected after seven days, but it is best to use an alternate form of contraception for the entire month just for safety. As always, condoms should also be used to protect against STD's, and HIV/AIDS. Hope this helps. Robin
