multi-part question regarding PH and BV/yeast?(DR. Please)

I went to Dr for recurring discharge. Has been diagnosed as BV before, as well as yeast. Wet mount and(whiff)were negative. Dr. said she didn't expect to see much from a culture, but would do it regardless. Discharge causes no symptoms, just annyoing and at times when I go to the bathroom, or in my underware. Culture did grow +2 yeast, and strep b. I was treated by another Dr. who got the culture results with yeast meds. I went back for an unrelated visit, a new Dr. said he would not treat for such a test result. "Yeast will grow without it being an infection." I bought Ph tape for urine and saliva 6.8 being ideal. The tape measures down to 5.5. When I try it with discharge, the tape doesn't change or goes to maybe 5.5. What does this indicate? Discharge changes throughout my cycle. No discharge on walls of vagina, no real itch, just uncomfortable wetness. Questions 1. PH? what should the reading be at normal, yeast or bacterial. 2.would a negative wet mount and whiff indicate no reason to treat, or did culture indicate infection? 3.If yeast is normal inhibitant in vagina, would it then grow on culture? 4. normal pap last January, have had this discharge complaint before and after pap, does normal pap relieve any concerns? 5. lastly, been tested for HIV, only risk since negative test was a tattoo in a sterile reputable studio and one french kiss(2 minutes?) no cuts or sores in my mouth. don't know man's statis. I just hear that reccurrent vaginal complaints indicate HIV. Health Dept. said risks don't warrant tests. Help! Sorry for the novel about my vagina, not as entertaining to read as John Grisham!
