No earthly idea as to how or why. OTOH, we have a good mechanism as to why Oral Contraceptives as a rule help acne. The estrogen in them, increases levels of Sex Hormone Binding Globulin (SHBG) which in turn lowers levels of FREE testosterone. My comments apply to all oral contraceptives not just Ortho-Tri-Cyclen.
