Re: Chlamydia

Prior to getting married, my husband and I also had a mysterious case of chlamydia. We had both been monogamous for over three years, when my husband, fiance at the time developed symptoms. He tested positive for chlamydia and was treated. During the same time, I went to be tested and was negative, so I didn't receive treatment. About a year later, my husband developed symptoms again, this time we both tested positive and were treated.

My theory: I carried the infection in my throat. Infected my partner through oral sex. This would explain why he tested positive and I initially tested negative. (Doctor never mentioned a throat culture.) Since I was not treated during the first incidence, I reinfect my partner, again through oral sex, and he infects me through intercourse. Doctor said this could have been possible. This is my story to illustare that all things are possible. Try not to lose trust. There clearly isn't enough known about this silent infection.
