Reply: Lynn D. Montgomery, MD: "Re: Menstral Cycle and Hypothyroidism..." I saw a post that said something about a thyroid problem affecting your menstral cycle. I do have hypothyroid and am on synthroid, as I have been for the past 6 years. However, my menstral cycle has gone goofy. My current cycle has ran a month now and it's just a bit of spotting everyday after the first week. Previous to this I had a two week long period of heavy bleeding and before that I didn't have a cycle for over three months.
