elevated prolatinFrom: Dolly (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 29 Oct 2001 20:33:10 -0500
I am 49 years old and have had a problem with elevated prolatin for the past two years-- I have taken parlodel 2.5mg appx. 6 times for usually 10 days, which puts my prolatin level in the normal range. But within a month --- my prolatin level goes back to 30-35. How does this affect my pituary gland ? Does it affect other parts of my body -- is so what and what are the side affects? What are my options to control my prolatin level? My doctor has ordered a MRI ---- Is this to check the size of my pituary gland? I have had three tubal pregnance and have never had a child -- could my prolatin level contributed to this? Could I have had elevated prolatin several years and it was accidentally discovered during my hormone level tests? This past year I have had weight gain, mild headaches, tight neck muscles and I do not sleep well. I contributed this to change of life. My last period was 12/31/00 Any information or guidance would be very helpful.
