Can post coital bleeding be hormonal?

I have read some posts and some woman have been having the same problem I am. A couple have mentioned Post coital bleeding as being related to you hormones. Is this possible? I always thought that the actual act of intercourse was causing the bleeding, from irritation, polyps, etc. And that the bleeding was coming from the cervix,or the uteris. HOw can it be hormonal? Thanks Alice P.S. I have had lots of tests done and my Docs cannot find a reason....possibly cervical irritation.
