Re: A ? to Dr.'s about how I should approach my gyne?

I am not a physician, but this is what my GYN told me--I do have a small prolapsed bladder and my cervix is hanging down quite a bit. I am not interested in surgery (this happened after a rectocele repair which was successful--I am not saying it happened because of the rectocele repair, I just didn't have it til after that was over). I told him to just take my uterus out so it wouldn't be hanging out--he said that might make the bladder worse since it was being held up by that same uterus/cervix I want out! I chose to live with it for now as I am not having any further problems (except I went from walking to jogging last week and thought my insides were falling out so we will have to see what happens if I continue that type of exercise). When I did call my doctor to ask advice on my cervix sticking out (about five months after rectocele repair)--and he asked why I didn't tell him before about this so he could have examined me properly for it (standing)--I told him it wasn't there before. So, not to take blame from your doctor, but it sounds to me like you have some health problems, you are frustrated, and you want to blame someone. I wouldn't waste your time trying to blame this other doctor. Focus your energy on the positive and coming up with a "game plan" for recovery. I can't imagine that dwelling on where you have been, since you have been thru so much, is making you feel better. I say let go of the past, focus on the new doctors and getting healed. Just my opinion--guess you can always delete it if sounds mean--I wasn't trying to sound mean, just hate to see you "stuck" on what is wrong, how it happened, etc.
