'Dead flesh' odorFrom: TJ (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 21 Oct 2001 21:53:55 -0500 (CDT)
I am so hoping someone can help me. I've just searched the archives on this and I can't find anything that fits. I know I probably need to see my gyn, and I am going to call tomorrow for an appt, but I know it will be at least 3 weeks before I can see her. Please tell me if anyone has any insight.. I have menstrual cycles that are at least 35+ days. I notice once I get far into my cycle, I'm assuming soon before my period arrives, that I have a HORRIBLE odor during sex. I mean, it's so bad that I can hardly continue. It smells just like dead flesh. This has been on and off for like a year or so; hard to remember when it started. My fiance has never said anything but I know there is no way he can't notice it. I've read info on bacterial vaginosis and that seems to mention a fishy odor; this is anything but fishy. I don't have any other symptoms, no itchiness, etc. I do have PCOS so I know my hormones can be very out of whack at any given time. I also have either colitis or Crohn's disease (in the testing phase) and I am due to have my gall bladder removed this Friday. Could any of this be related? If not, does anyone have any idea what this could be? I am wondering what to expect at the gyn's office. Please give me your input! Thank you.
