Post-lap right flank painFrom: Jill (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 15 Oct 2001 08:50:45 -0500 (CDT)
Hello, I had a laparoscopy approx 3.5 weeks ago where a 10.5cm cyst was removed along with my right ovary and tube (cyst caused torsion). Also, they found a little endo. When I had my cyst (about 4-5 months!!!), I started to get persistent pressure and discomfort in my right flank area (around the kidney area). Even after the surgery I still have the same amound of discomfort in that area. It got better a little after the surgery when I wasn't doing anything, but now that I have pretty much picked up normal activities I am getting the discomfort again. It is not a pin pointed pain, it is in the same basic area but can be uncomfortable in slightly different spots during different times. It bothered me a lot last night, but this weekend I had been walking around town in heeled shoes--those seem to bother my back more than sneakers...did I over do it? I am thinking that I could have some nerve damage or something?! I am meeting iwht my doctor on Thursday for the one month post-op, is this something that I should call her about today? I have been heating the area and when I rest or when I wake up in the morning it does feel better, but as the day gets going I start feeling the pain again.
