Re: Thanks to all who replied re: what would you do??From: Kristy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 13 Oct 2001 14:40:20 -0700 (PDT)
Connie, I do understand about keeping your physician. And it was b/c of that that I suggested that he work together with the other one that knows how to do the kind of repair that your dr can't do. When I had my first laparoscopy the gyn that took me in to the OR worked alongside a Reproductive Endocrinologist to do my laparoscopy. The RE found the endo that was inside. Did your gyn say what could potentially happen if you waited too long to have surgery to fix these prolapses b/c of them being a grade 3 and he felt that you absolutely needed to have surgery to repair them this year even though you have no sick leave left? Could you talk to your boss about asking the other employees to donate one hour of their sick leave to you so that you could have surgery done this year if your dr says it's imperative? Also you may want to check in to the FMLA to see what that says b/c I think that there is something in that they will not take off the clock b/c you need to have treatment. A friend of mine had to do that when she was getting a number of treatments for her illnesses even though she had to work. The movie A Child's Wish was the story of how that law came in to existence. These are just some thoughts and I hope that all goes well in Nov. ===== Kristy :) http://www.geocities.com/sokokl/kristyspersonalpage.html Hoping to be a nurse soon but for now just a Medical Secretary who does a lot of learning from reading on the Net, books, my dr(s), as well as sharing my own personal experiences.
