Daniel Braun, MD: "Re: negative wet mount and whiff test, but culture grew stuff" Wet mount and Whiff test produced no yeast or bacteria and only +2 white cells, but Dr. cultured discharge. two days later i am told I have a +2 yeast reading on the culture and Strep B. Being treated with Terazol 3 8%. Why was wet mount -? I have been having discharge and either yeast or bacterial vaginitis for a year. I am getting extremely concerned. I have been tested for HIV, (negative numerous times), but I worry because I hear that recurring vaginitis is a sign of HIV...True concern? Is there prevention? Also, Strep B?
