Estrace VS Premarin for tvh/bsoFrom: Leslie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 6 Oct 2001 05:54:04 -0500 (CDT)
I was recently switched from 1.25 dose of Premarin to 1-2 mg of Estrace (I get to choose??). Since beginning on the Estrace, I have had horrible headaches and have been developing cramps in my calves at night while sleeping. My doctor, a military doc,, thought the change might help as I was beginning to have hot flashes and symptoms with the premarin. I am only 37 and cannot keep going on like this. Is there a higher dose of premarin that I could have taken rather than the switch to estrace? On November 1st my new private health insurance will kick in and I will be able to see an obgyn, but until then I am really having alot of trouble with this. We recently moved to California from Florida and I was not comfortable with the new doctor at all. He did not respond to my complaints of pain in my pelvic area (swelling and discomfort) and other HRT issues and basically said you need to switch to Estrace. I am 5 months postop. Any suggestions to get me thru the next month would be greatly appreciated.
