It could be that you had an allergic reaction to the medication that made the burning/itching worse. I think the doctor would have to see you. Plus, I know it seems so much easier to treat yourself with over the counter medications since they are readily available and don't require a doctor visit, but sometimes we end up misdiagnosing ourselves or they have something that works better. I had some problems recently with recurring yeast infections where I was so sore and raw and red that when I first used over the counter meds on my own, it felt worse. I had to go to the doc and get Diflucan as well as a prescription for something other than Monistat. Good luck. (I wouldn't use the Monistat any more til you see the doctor.)
