Genital warts are caused by a virus called human papillomavirus, or HPV for short.

Herpes is caused by a virus called herpes simplex virus, or HSV for short.

What they have in common is that they infect the genital area, each is caused by a virus, and neither virus is curable.

Genital warts are not a type of herpes. Your question is a very common one, though. Please write again if you need further help.
