[Birth Control] A break from birth control

I got Norplant in the summer of 91 and got it removed 5 1/2 years later. At that time I started on Depo-Provera. I decided to stop using Depo due to the limited long-length research done on it. I should have received my last shot in the middle of May. I have just gotten my first period in about 10 years (I didn't have a regular cycle on Norplant and didn't bleed at all on Depo). I have taken birth-control pills before Norplant but vomitted for long hours (over 13 hours straight) with 4 different strengths and brands. What is the best contraceptive choice for me? I am not sure whether to try birth-control pills again or just use OTC forms. I don't think my body can handle more hormone combinations.
