I am nineteen years old, and when I was fourteen I was put on oral contriceptives because of a hormonal imbalance. I could not stop having my menstral period. The pill helped so much. I have taken four or five different kinds of birthcontrol pills in the last five years. They are tri-phasil 28, loestrin, orto tri-cyclen, lo orval, and I am currently taking orto-cyclen. The abnormal bleeding started about eight months into the lo orval which was about eight months ago. I would start a pill pack on sunday, and go only one week with out bleeding. I would slowly start my period this pattern went on for a while I called my Obgyn and his nurses told me that it was normal. So I just went along with it. I had severe bloating, cramps, and umberible headaches. I made an appointment My doctor gave me a pelvic exam. He said he did'nt feel anything abnormal but me being only nineteen he said it was odd that I am having this much bleeding. He put me on ortho cyclen to totaly stop my menstral cycle. I have been on it for four months now the first pill pack I did not bleed for three weeks. Ever since I started bleeding I havent stopped It gets heavier and heavier every day I have had a headache for five days now. I have no clue what it could be if anyone could e-mail me back I would deeply appriciate it I know you are busy but I need some advice from a doctor. Thanks, Jessica Keith Memphis,Tn.
