Marchbein, M.D.: "Re: Prophylatic Oophorectomy" I had cervical cancer 26 years ago and had a hysterectomy. It was insitu cancer, not needing any further treatment. Then 10 years later had a right ovarian torsion due to a large undetected cyst. In March 2000 I had a bilateral mastectomy for DCIS. I am 51 and have one remaining ovary and want it out.
