My history: 10 years chronic LLQ, pelvic floor, hip, low back neuromuscular pain pursuant to traumatic childbirth with 4th degree tear. Had my first internal pt treatment to the pelvic floor muscles on 9/11. At that time I was just finishing my period which began 9/7. On 9/17, the day after an external PT treatment of ultrasound to the perineum and low back, I began bleeding quite heavily. Usually my period begins with a lot of very dark blood (what does that mean, by the way?) This episode was bright red blood, and continued for 5 days with heavy bleeding each day. When it was over, I observed that my usual abdominal bloating was gone, and the constant pain I experience in the vaginal/bladder area was completely gone. I've had many pelvic exams and five years ago had a pelvic MRI. I've also had periodic ultrasounds. Nothing has shown up except for one ovarian cyst which dissipated on its own without any bleeding a few years ago. Any ideas?
