A persistent ulcer needs to be evaluated and treated. It should be
cultured to see if it's any sort of an infection. If it is, it needs
therapy. If the culture is negative, it should be removed under local
anesthetic and analyzed to see exactly what it is. It may all fixed up
by either antibiotic therapy OR ecxcision.
