there are health consequences to prolonged amenorrhea (outside of that associated with pregnancy, breastfeeding or while on the pill or depoprovera) such as increased risk of uterine cancer and osteoporosis

your body will not become dependent on the provera (medroxyprogesterone acetate). Inducing a withdrawal bleed at least 4 times a year lowers the incidence of endometrial cancer that is associated with prolonged anovulation and amenorrhea
