Daniel Braun, MD: "Re: [Birth Control] Birth Control Pills to prevent ovarian cysts" My 17 yr old daughter had her right ovary and tube removed due to a large dermoid. Her GYN has recommended she take birth control pills to prevent the formation of other cysts. I know the pills will not help if she should develop another dermoid.
