[Birth Control] Birth control with PCO?

I hope someone here can help me with this question. I know that progesterone in birth control pills or progesterone-only forms of birth control has androgenic effects. Does that mean using progesterone in birth control is a bad idea for women with PCO, or who are genetically predisposed to PCO? Would a progesterone-only form of birth control be a particularly bad idea? Or is it more the case that PCO will develop when it develops, regardless of outside influences? Research or informed replies would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
