36 year old with questionsFrom: Rhonda (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 26 Sep 2001 11:34:29 -0500 (CDT)
I am 36 years old. I had a hysterectomy when I was 31. I had a hysterectomy because of cervical cancer. At the same time I lost my right ovary to a dermoid cyst. I am also on Paxil for anxiety. In the past two years I have had symptoms of night sweats, back pain, insomnia, forgetfulness, diaraea, loss of interest in sex. I was thinking these symptoms were from the Paxil. But just recenltly I began to question these symptoms. I had a blood test in which it determined that I was low on Progestrone. Since then I was put on Progestrone cream. I do not feel any difference. I just recently had an ultrasound in which I disovered that my one and only left ovary was now on my right side. Is this common with women who have had a hysterectomy? I have never heard of such a thing. Also I discovered that my ovary is now another dermoid cyst. Is this common for someone who has had one dermoid to get another? Are there any other options to removing this ovary or do I need to get it removed also? Also I have a teenage daughter, is she likely to have the same problems in her future? Thank-you for reading my questions,
