now period problems...

In April I had a laparoscopy, hysteroscopy and D&C because of abdominal pain, painful sex and bleeding afterwards. Dr. removed a cyst, numerous large polyps, a very thickened lining and some other portion of suspicious tissue sitting on the outside of my uterus. All benign. She had suspected endometriosis, but found no evidence. What I've been left with are a number of intramural fibroids, one large, the others smaller. They are very obvious on the photos. She can't assess them without a hysterectomy and left that up to me. I decided to wait until my annual exam in October to see if they'd grown. Pain with sex and bleeding afterwards resumed about 6 weeks after surgery. My first period was at 28 days, which has always been my average. Since then, though, they've come at 35 days, 41 days, and right now I'm at 52 days. Lots of pain and cramping for weeks. Any ideas?? Could the surgery, even there was no removal of ovaries, have sent me into menopause (I'm 47)? Should there still be menstrual cramping if periods are missed? As an aside - Dr. found during my lap that my gall bladder is enlarged (nice pretty blue balloon in photo!) - should I be concerned about that? Any input would be appreciated!
