[Birth Control] BLEEDING FOR WEEKS - BIRTH CONTROL PILLFrom: Stacey (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 26 Sep 2001 01:09:36 -0500 (CDT)
About 6 months ago I got on the Depo shot for the first time in my life (I'm 23 yrs old). I immediately started having terrible side effects that included headaches, dizziness, pain in my joints, and bleeding. I bled for 3 weeks straight. Finally I went to my doctor who put me on the pill to stop the bleeding. After a couple of days, the bleeding stopped (the other side effects continued). When it was time for me to get my Depo shot again, I opted for the pill. I've been on Estrostep Fe ever since and I have started bleeding again, this time it has not stopped. I am feeling really frustrated to the point of getting emotional. I know that this is a side effect, but I just want it to stop. When can I expect the bleeding to stop? And what should I do to make it stop? Anxiously awaiting and appreciating your reply.
