[Birth Control] Birth control causing dizzines????From: Julie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 25 Sep 2001 18:14:39 -0500 (CDT)
I am 20 yr old female and have been taking Birth control for 5 years now. I strated out on ortho novum 7/7/7 for about 3 and a half years and then switched to Mircette. I was wondering if anyone has ever heard of having severe dizziness due to birth control. I get it about once a month for about three days and it could last anywhere from an hour to all day. This has really only been in the past 4 months I have had it. I have had inner ear infections before that caused severe vertigo conditions where I could not even stand up but that was like a year and a half ago and none of these episodes seem to be as severe or prolonged. My mom keeps saying its hormone related but I can find no information on such things. i just want to rule this out as a side effect from the birth contrtol before I go into the doctor if I decide to. The dizziness I experience is like the room is spinning and I often have to lie down. I also get nausea with it too sometimes. The episodes usually come on very strong and abrupt and then slowly fade away over time. I know I'm not pregnant, so that's not it. I'd appreciate it if anyone could post any information they have on this. Thanks a lot.
