Reply: William F. von Almen, II, MD, FACOG: "Re: perineum damage?" I've had 5 children. I guess I don't know how describe this. I'll try. After my fifth baby, my perineum has shortened quite a bit. I can see where the tissue use to be together near my vagina (I have a large opening now). I also have alot of extra tissue around the vagina on one side. It really looks like a mess. Can a doctor repair this? Does insurance pay for this? I'm really insecure about this around my husband (I feel loose during intercourse also). Thanks.
