ORS/Endo/perimenopause - trying to make sense of symptomsFrom: D.N. (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 10 Sep 2001 13:22:55 -0500 (CDT)
Hi, I know that I am going through perimenopause and I know when I ovulate because of mittelschmertz. I had ovulation pain last Tuesday. Today I am having pain like my "period" has started. (I have ORS and endo + s/p TAH+LSO and later RSO. I have a permanently swollen lymph node in the lower left side that becomes very painful during a "period". Endo was found in the sigmoid colon area during my hyst.) I understand that cycles vary in length-from period to period during perimenopause. I am wondering- can the length from the time from when you ovulate to the time your period starts get shorter? Normally, I run 12 days between ovulation and period. In the last couple days I have had hot flashes, mood swings. Normally I have breast tenderness after ovulation. This month, I have none. Does this mean that I am not producing enough progesterone? Would this be why it feels like my "period" has started or can endo act differently and cause this pain prior to the actual period starting. I appreciate your input. Thanks! D.N.
