Hysterectomy and cancer?From: AJ (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 4 Sep 2001 23:12:01 -0500 (CDT)
Hello again. I have a question that may be to detailed to go into here, but heck thought I would give it a shot. I'm 22 and have endometriosis. 2 years ago I was diagnosed with CIN3 carcinoma in situ. After I had the LEEP for this all of my paps have came back fine. On my medical records it had quite a few #'s of HPV that were common with cervical cancer, I cant remember how many, but more than I would have liked. Cancer runs in my family on both sides, grandma, grandpa, aunt. My mom has pushed me to have a hysterectomy since I was diagnosed with endo. She really pushed after I had told her that there had been some research that linked endo to some autoimmune diseases and breast cancer. My question is, would having a hysterectomy at my age possibly lead to cancer? If you could just point me in a direction to search for some answers it would be greatly appreciated. And also, would having a hyst mean that I wouldn't get cervical cancer?? Thanks alot for your time. Take Care and God Bless, AJ
